Jeff Bensky, has over 25 years of experience in various segments of healthcare delivery.
As a consultant for others and as a Chief Executive Officer for companies he has created, Jeff has developed a comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of specific aspects of healthcare including outpatient delivery systems, physician practice development, business development in alternative care including wellness and fitness, as well as the strategic relationships between various entities in healthcare delivery systems (pharmaceutical, insurers, corporations). In addition, many projects and experiences have integrated sports (professional and amateur) related activities. In the GlaxoSmithKline-Ingenix-Watson Wyatt Adherence Project, he will serve as a primary consultant in various aspects of the project.
Over the past 25 years, Jeff has created innovative business propositions, strategic and implementation plans for new businesses in the delivery of retail oriented ambulatory, and outpatient healthcare solutions. These business plans embraced new and unique customer groups and required comprehensive and innovative marketing platforms. Products and services included disease management, health promotion, wellness and fitness, alternative and complimentary care. Plans included businesses valued from $5-35MM in start up revenues for companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Searle, Monsanto Company, St. Louis University Medical Centers, Baylor University Medical Center and Florida Hospital (Celebration Health).
Jeff earned his bachelors in Psychology from the University of Hartford, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in Educational Psychology. He began his career as a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department of Saint Louis University and soon helped develop a department at Saint Louis University Medical Center focused on helping providers and corporations forge health management partnerships in various cities around the United States. Jeff also has had professional experiences with for profit health care (Charter Medical Corporation) as an Executive Director of a division, with consulting services (as a senior manager at Price Waterhouse in the National Strategic Consulting Practice) and building his own consulting practice around the concept of Intergrated Lifestyle Management (growing The Benfield Group to 20 employees and over $2.5 million dollars in annual revenues) and in real estate development and project management of medically based health and wellness centers (TBG Development).
He has earned credits for the production of two Emmy Award winning industrial films on aspects of wellness, is the author of a number of professional journal, magazine articles and a book, and has appeared on local, regional and national radio and television programs on health topics. He also has served on the Board of Advisors for IDEA, Inc., was a member of the Missouri Governors Council on Health, Fitness and Sports, is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Association for Worksite Health Promotion and the former Chairman of the Board of Operation FitKids. |
