Bob has dedicated twenty years to studying high-performance organizations, advising their executives, and sharing the insights and lessons from their experiences with business clients and audiences worldwide.

In 1991, Bob was awarded a six year multi-million dollar grant from the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to study leadership and healthy organizations. Bob is the author of three best selling books. The Healthy Company, published in 1991, was rated by Warren Bennis as "one of the best management books of the decade." Leading People, released in 1996, was acclaimed by the Wall Street Journal as "one of the best business books of the year." His most recent book, Global Literacies, is the product of a landmark study on global leadership and world-class companies. Published in 2000 by Simon & Schuster, it was awarded one of Fortune Magazine's "Best Business Books" and has since been released in six languages worldwide.

Each year Bob speaks to thousands of executives worldwide and appears regularly in the international media. He recently hosted a discussion on world leadership with former Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and James Baker, at the Nation's Capital Distinguished Speakers Series at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
