Ira began his career working as a US Army Officer in the Army Medical
Department. He held a variety of positions as both a Chief Information
Officer (CIO) and a public affairs officer. Subsequently, Ira worked for
three high technology firms both in the Washington, DC and San Francisco
Areas. In various executive capacities, he managed marketing and marketing
communications, product management, new product release, service level
agreements, and pricing organizations for Digex, Inc. (acquired by MCI,
NASDAQ:MCIP), Aptegrity (acquired by Globix, AMEX:GEX), and XUMA.
He earned his MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the
University of Maryland and his BS from The Martin J. Whitman School of
Management at Syracuse University. He is a very active Maryland alum
serving
on several boards and committees for both the Smith School and the
University. He has been a mentor to Smith School students since 1999 and
serves on the Smith School Mentor Committee. Ira has been performing
improvisational comedy professionally since 1994 with Comedy Sportz
